Joseph Emmett has been a student of Swami Parthasarathy since 1996, and is a graduate of Swamiji’s full-time, three-year residential course at Vedanta Academy (2001). He has spent years in the ashram thereafter, deepening his knowledge. Joseph also holds a BA in South and East Asian Religions from Washington University in St. Louis.

In 2010, Joseph founded Vedanta Institute Houston, a tax-exempt 501c3 service organization dedicated to making Vedanta available to all those who seek it. He leads weekly study groups, offers seminars for management teams and leadership groups such as Young President’s Organization and addresses cultural organizations, universities and schools. He has been the Vedanta faculty-in-residence at leading wellness resorts around the world such as Ananda-In the Himalayas, Amangiri (Utah) and Calamigos Guest Ranch (Malibu).

Joseph employs Swamiji’s groundbreaking interpretation of Vedanta’s ancient wisdom for modern living in all of his programs.
